Having undergone the annual FCSA audit, Bluebird Accountancy is delighted to announce that we have successfully passed (March 2023), and our accreditation has been renewed for another year. Since the day we launched, compliance has always been our priority and having our accreditation renewed is something we’re immensely proud of. Please keep reading for more information.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the FCSA”
Ciaran Woodcock, Head of Marketing & Sales at Bluebird Accountancy, said:
“The FCSA is the leading professional body dedicated to ensuring the supply chain of temporary workers is compliant. Therefore, maintaining our FCSA accreditation has always been a priority and something we have worked hard to achieve. We have always been 100% committed to compliance within our sector and firmly believe the best way to showcase this was for Bluebird Accountancy to earn and maintain the prestigious FCSA accreditation.
Having our accreditations renewed is something I am proud to announce. The Bluebird team has worked exceedingly hard to ensure that we always abide by the FCSA’s strict Codes of Compliance and that everything we do is in the best interests of our clients.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with the FCSA and providing high-quality accountancy services to limited company directors and landlords.”
Who is the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA)?
The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is a professional body in the UK that aims to protect temporary workers from non-compliant parties within the supply chain. The following has been taken from the FCSA’s website:
“Since 2008, FCSA has supported and represented the professional employment services sector. We’re the UK’s leading membership body for umbrella employers, contractor accountants and CIS payroll services providers with over 70 member firms who support more than 170,000 contractors.”
“FCSA’s purpose is to safeguard the long-term future of the professional freelance sector for the benefit of the UK economy. Our primary role is to raise standards and promote compliance, and through our Accreditation, which is regarded as the industry’s compliance gold standard, we encourage self-regulation in the sector in supporting contractors to meet their tax and legal obligations.”
“Our governance adheres to membership body best practice. Our Board is elected by members, has strategic responsibility for FCSA objectives and meets quarterly, with the FCSA Chief Executive responsible for decision making and delivery of FCSA activities. The Board consists of elected members and prides itself on its transparency with the membership where all members’ voices will be heard.”
Professional accountants can earn accreditation from the FCSA. However, earning an FCSA accreditation is not straightforward. In the beginning, Bluebird Accountancy underwent a series of rigorous assessments and audits, where no stone was left unturned. After the process was complete, the FCSA were satisfied that our procedures fully complied with HMRC and adhered to the FCSA’s Codes of Compliance (available here).
